What My Morning Routine is Like

I’m not a morning person by any stretch of the imagination. Because I’m a blogger, I think every blogger eventually dishes about their morning routine, so I figured it’s my turn. I will start off with my goals for the morning the night before:

– Don’t hit snooze
– Get up right away
– Have enough time to stop at Starbucks

I can’t tell you how many times these 3 goals tug at my heart the night before, only to come crashing down the morning of. How disrespectful of me to even go there.

As the morning comes, I’m literally passed out like these two puppies.

Snooze is my best friend. I snooze three more times until I finally get up to let my dog out the backyard. I definitely love not having to walk him every morning by the way. Sometimes it is a struggle because Sebastian is pretty blind and so I have to guide him down the hall onto the patio. I wish I was joking, but I’m not. My dog is getting old and lost his sight about a year and a half ago.

I hop in the shower and I don’t wash my hair every day. If I did, it would damage it and so I only wash it every three days or so. The days that I do wash it, I blow dry it all while wearing my bathrobe.

I got in a bad habit of doing my makeup while stopped in traffic and when I didn’t want to do it in the car and started doing it at work, I got a few frowns. So I can’t do that anymore. Now I have to make time and do my makeup at home like a normal lady should. Blah.

Before makeup I moisturize, put on my serum, then SPF day cream (all from Mary Kay; I still got tons of product). When I don’t forget, I put on my SPF 15 primer and pile on the makeup. If I’m really in a rush, I only do my lashes and foundation because the basics. The rest can be done at lunch time.

Hopefully I masterminded in bed the night before what I’m gonna wear, but if not I usually pick out what I want to wear if something pops out at me. My selections have gotten limited these days as I can’t fit into my regular clothes like I used to a few months before. Not worried though because I’ll lose it in no time. I’ll be joining Weight Watchers with my mom, holla!

Somewhere while getting ready I let Sebastian back inside. I leave him some water and food in his little bowl and then I head to the kitchen to get some breakfast food to go. I usually pack my yogurt and strawberries/blueberries. Though sometimes I just want a croissant.

Regardless of what I do, as long as I have my coffee at some point in the morning, all is right with the world.

For the most part I’m on time, but 99% of the time I don’t wake up early enough to make it to Starbucks as originally planned. If I could make it almost every day, I’d like to think I would become a morning person, but instead the cycle continues. I’ll always be a night owl at heart.
