Superb Mother’s Day Weekend

I just realized how fortunate I am to still have my mom for Mother’s Day and I think I am a kick ass daughter because I made her feel like the queen she is. We even did a photoshoot with my new Canon Rebel DSLR camera.

These are the gorgeous roses I picked up for her at Target. They sure brightened up the room and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

She insisted on posing next to them so I obliged. My mom can be so silly sometimes, I know where I get my silly genes from! Oh yeah that’s my mom y’all!

Here’s where our impromtu photoshoot began. She was looking so fly, I don’t think I could keep up with her style! Go mom!

Love this pic! I told her she should let her hair grow. It used to be at her waist before I was born. Nevertheless, I love how her hair looked here.

She looks amazing. This woman is the rock of our family. I wouldn’t even know what to do without her.

Last year I took her to Olive Garden followed by The Gatsby movie in theaters. This time around, with my new car purchase, new living room decor, new camera, you guys know the deal, oh and rent; well, Chipotle was the next best thing. It was even more awesome that we went to Chipotle because my mom had never been before!! So she loved her burrito bowl, I loved my burrito bowl, it was coolness.

Finally us! I was a little envious of how good she looks in this pic, even better than me but hey! at least I know when I get older I will look bomb diggity like her. I know I’m being superficial, but just keepin’ it real.
I admit I don’t like this pic of me, but I’ll deal. This is my outfit and I was pretty stoked to wear my Stella & Dot scarf since it’s the first time I’ve worn it since I got it.
Now these polka dot heels I’ve actually had them for a year or two, but I don’t wear them often so I said what the hell, it’s Mother’s Day and I’m feeling 22 polka dots on my shoes.
So after the Chipotle goodness, we headed back home with my siblings and we watched a movie. I had to get back home shortly after that to bake some cookies for my job’s service day bake sale we’re having today for a good cause.

Rewind a little further to Friday; Girl’s Night! Melanie and I headed to Kenny’s Smokehouse BBQ and since I had so much Mexican last week, this BBQ was the perfect way to end my Mexican week. It was also a bonus that Melanie and I had never tried out this place and we will be back soon {brunch is cheap with cheap mimosas, holla!}.

I have a soft spot for anything coconut {I go nuts for coconuts} so I ordered this coconut shrimp appetizer with these yummy sauces. I didn’t like the middle one because it had wasabi and me no like wasabi, gives me whiplash. The other two were a Thai sweet and sour sauce with cilantro bits in it and the other one was a Raspberry Vinaigrette type of sauce.

My entree. Wedge salad {drizzled with blue cheese dressing and sprinkled with bacon} with marbled cut brisket on the side. OMG, so freakin’ delish. Party in my mouth, sorry y’all weren’t invited.

Saturday I completely procrastinated and didn’t get groceries like I should have until Sunday when I got back from my mom’s.

Eating out and buying food from the cafeteria at work is fine and dandy, until you notice your water weight becoming your absolute worst nightmare. Starting my healthy kick routine as of now.

So yeah Saturday was lazy Saturday in full effect. I think I only got up for walking the dog and actually putting the dishes in the dishwasher. Caught up with my TV shows and almost done with House of Cards. I was gonna go to the Pet Expo, but laziness won and I had no intention on leaving my house.

What about y’all? How was your Mother’s Day weekend?
