One thing you should know about me is that I’m a slow reader. It’s becoming more and more apparent to me when I have yet another book that’s overdue from the library. Then again, this book I’m reading now, The Last Mrs. Parrish is written in third person and I don’t like it! Mainly because I get confused on who is saying what. It would be so much simpler if it was written in first person like Circe and All We Ever Wanted was. So far the story is boring me to tears and I don’t get why the main character, Amber, is doing what she’s doing. I guess I’ll find out as I keep reading, but at this point, it’s tough to get through.
I bought Book Girl (Affiliate Link), which came in the mail the other day and I can’t wait to dig into it. Now that I’m back to reading, I feel like this book is really going to help me look out for certain books and genres and how they can help me overall.
I’m also into reading fantasy. You can blame it on my book hangover from finishing Circe a few days ago and also I binged watched all of the Twilight Saga movies on Prime. It seems to be the genre that I really enjoy reading/watching and I’m not bored at all. I can’t wait to dig into Caraval (Affiliate Link) by Stephanie Garber. It has mystery, fantasy and a little bit of detective work (which I love because I like uncovering things).
Are you a slow or fast reader? What’s the fastest you’ve devoured a book? For me it was 2 days (long time ago) and recently 5 days. But really, I don’t want to race and read for speed. I like to take my time and picture in my mind what the author is trying to convey. But that’s me.
