Vacation & The City

Is it just me or did this week fly by faster than you can say holy cannoli. I’m also a little psyched that I blogged consistently this week. Sometimes blogging comes in spurts of creativity. As of tomorrow I will be on vacation. More like a staycation, but I’m excited because I’ll get to explore my city. The original plan was to go to Puerto Rico, but it didn’t work out because of timing. Hopefully I can go during the holidays or early next year. It’s nice to get away for way longer than a weekend. I’ll be back to work on the 13th.

Places I want to visit while on my mini vacay

The State Capitol – I have passed by so many times, it’s about time I finally go visit and hope to learn somethings.

Lake Travis – I just want to be in nature and wouldn’t mind reading my book while relaxing outdoors.

Austin Public Library in Downtown – This place is top notch and even though I live outside the city limits and can’t check out books there, I wouldn’t mind bringing my book and do some reading. It’s probably Instagram worthy too.

IKEA – I need to get shelves and a chaisse chair, but for the most part going to window shop for now.

Cinemark Movies – Not sure what it is but Austin is so full of life and things to do that the movies are the last thing on my mind. I have a few I wanna go see so I may make more than one trip.

My Apartment’s Pool – I haven’t been to my pool and this is the last hoorah before summer ends.

Austin’s Farmers Market – I need to buy produce and what a better way to do it than getting it absolutely fresh. Can’t wait.

I’m thinking I’ll also cut back on social media and do like a digital cleanse. I just want to savor this time I have to myself and come back refreshed. I think this was a good time to take vacation because the next few weeks are going to be hectic.

This Labor Day weekend I wanted to go to Dallas, but I need to stay put. That’s my checklist for my Vacation & The City. Whatever you decide to do, I hope you enjoy it, relax and spend it with your family/friends.

What do you plan when you go on vaca/staycation?
