I Blog Because…

Happy Friday! As you may have noticed I put up a new header and tweaked some things around here.  With that said let’s get to the nitty gritty of why I blog.

I was staring at a blank page the other day inside my blog platform and no words would come to me as to what the hell to write. I decided to let it go and not force myself to blog something that will just be crap and spare your lives from reading absolute nonsense! The next day I saw how a couple of bloggers were admitting that they are feeling the exact same way I was feeling and it made me feel a little better. It feels good to know that I’m not the only one and that’s one of the main reasons I blog.

I blog to be able to have a place where I can vent, share my stories, be creative {because I’m not that creative}, exercise my fingers by typing, writing out whatever comes to mind because I just may forget. Ultimately, I write to be able to connect with other people. Not to mention, blogging is really addicting. The more you do it, the more you want to keep doing it and before you know it you are blogging 5 to 7 days a week! Holla!

Admittedly, it’s not always going to be pretty. There’s the good, the bad and the really ugly. I recall
one time I pissed off a reader and they sure let me know it by commenting ever so harshly. It was very comical how riled up they got and it didn’t bother me one bit. I just felt like there was something that hit a nerve with them that had nothing to do with me and they just went to town. Not sure if they still read my blog, but I could care less. If they can’t understand where I’m coming from, no one is forcing them to read my blog. For shits and giggles you can read my post and how they reacted here: Not Drinking? Check Please!

There’s also the good that I absolutely adore. Earlier this year back in February I even got to do a meet and greet with two of my readers. We had brunch on a Sunday and it was a little nerve racking, but once I met them it was really neat. We shared a lot of the same opinions about dating and how hard it really is to date nowadays as well as in the big city we live in.

Now I’m getting my blogging mojo back by joining giveaways, sponsoring bloggers for the first time and my first link ups: Humpday Confessions and Weekend Recap. Also, I have learned a ton over the interwebs on design and I have been using Photoshop a lot more than I have in a long time and I get completely engaged doing my web designs. I’m thinking sometime next year I want to start doing my own custom blog designs where people just pay me for a custom design and I make them a kick ass layout. I think I still have a long way to go and I don’t want to commit to it just yet, but it’s something that I would love to do.

This is a photo of yours truly exactly a year ago hanging out at Vitruvian Park for Vitruvian Lights. I need to go back there this Christmas.

Linkin’ up with Whitney for #backthatazzup. This is one of my favorite Kelly Clarkson Christmas songs off her new album Wrapped In Red, it’s called Underneath The Tree. Enjoy!
